CheleLynn45 615 Posted December 21, 2014 Hope everything is going well with your recovery!! All you guys amaze me. I am such a big baby. My husband took a whole week off of work, my mom flew in to be with me for two weeks, and I was off work for just about 5 weeks (I would have taken longer but hubby said I had to go back LOL) I only work part time so financially we were fine. Honestly I was feeling pretty good and if I had to be by myself I could have after the first week. My husband is very very helpful around the house and my 15 yr old daughter took great care of me too. And to me it is always nice to have your mommy around when you are sick no matter how old you are. Because I only work part time, I could have gone back to work after week two, but it was soooo nice to have the time off to get used to my new eating and routines. Again, I really hope you are doing well, let's us know how it's going!!!!
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 21, 2014 Because I only work part time, I could have gone back to work after week two, but it was soooo nice to have the time off to get used to my new eating and routines. My program recommends people take 2 - 4 weeks off for just that very reason. Most people feel pretty good after the first week but it's getting used to the Protein Drinks and getting in the fluids. Depending on the type of work you do finding a workable schedule for the eating/drinking make be a bit of a challenge and they want people to be comfortable with that before they return to work. Susanfnp13 61 Posted December 21, 2014 Luckily my husband works at home and my kids are teenagers. I'm on day 6 and have lost 21 lbs so far. I'm getting in about 32 ounces and 70 grams of Protein. I find myself needing a nap daily for about 1.5 hours. It's been cold and raining since I came home so I can't walk outside. I ride my stationary bike for 5 minute intervals, a couple times a day. I don't have a lot of energy. I plan on going to the store tomorrow to get some walking in. Anyone else having troubles with low energy?
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 21, 2014 @@Susanfnp13 Your energy level sounds about right for so soon after surgery. Just go with it. Your body is adjusting to all the new changes, it's perfectly normal.
