lws96 1 Posted December 4, 2014 I was sleeved on november 18th. A friend of mine had hers done over a year ago and says she never feels hungry. However I think I still feel hunger pains. I was wondering what's common?
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 4, 2014 I get hunger pains on occasion, but most of the time I am not hungry. I had more hunger pains in the first 2 weeks when I was on all liquids than I do now.
Essence46 493 Posted December 4, 2014 I am almost 6 months out and I get hunger pains. I don't eat enough so I know that's why. I am working on this though. For years, I over ate and would tell myself "not eat so much" or to "stop eating so much". Now... I tell myself "you have to eat'. "You are not eating enough". Ugh! It's been an adjustment. GummyTummy 154 Posted December 4, 2014 Very normal to experience sensations in nerves that have been severed because you have been having them your whole life. Additionally, a couple of things mimic hunger, the foremost being acid in your tummy. It's a great idea to take a PPI for the first six months after surgery to calm this feeling down but I still get very hungry myself, I just eat way less when I do. I was kind of hoping to never be hungry physically but we all have to negotiate between what is physical hunger and what is psychological or head hunger. Make sure you don't think you are hungry as opposed to feeling hungry.
