MommaLlama 7 Posted December 3, 2014 Today is my 20th wedding anniversary, and I'd like to go to dinner with my husband. What recommendations do you have? I'm 4 weeks post-op and doing well on solid foods. Thanks!
Judyr 57 Posted December 3, 2014 It amazes me how different Drs are. I was on 3 weeks liquid, 3 weeks pureed foods , 3 weeks soft foods and after 3-4 months I got salads. Our pouches are very fragil after surgery and most of us have worried about stretching them out. But I am sure you are following your Drs suggestions. My first meal out was chicken noodle Soup with no noodles.
Bryan Graeve 50 Posted December 3, 2014 Depends on where you go. If you're doing to a nice supper club, look to share a plate with your hubby or order from the kids menu. Or maybe order a small appetizer (e.g. chicken wings).

InspirationMySon 135 Posted December 11, 2014 I would suggest Soup or the like, or at the very least something like you have eaten at home. Because butter is in just about everything when you dine out & other extra calorie/no no ingredients it's difficult to nail food down. So at 4 weeks your pouch might just push something back up or it can feel stuck or possibly you'll experience dumping because it's too greasy. I would research the place you plan to go beforehand, see what's on the menu by looking online. Make a plan and then stick to it when you get there. Also ask your server questions if you want to know how something is prepared. Happy 20th anniversary though! Try and enjoy it as best you can.
