NeenBand 7 Posted May 19, 2007 Hi everyone! I haven't been here in a while. No news from me is good news..lol We went out to eat last week and I was starving. We waited too long to eat and when my food came, I ate too fast and too much. I was in pain later that night and felt swollen with some reflux. I still do. It's a little better, but not much. Thoughts? I know, slap me up the side of the head, especially after reading all the recent complications Bandlanders have posted here with slippage and dilation of pouch and esophagus.:phanvan
Alexandra 55 Posted May 19, 2007 Hi Leener!! This sort of experience is exactly why I am always preaching that we should never let ourselves get too hungry. It's so important. Just take it real easy today and stick to small amounts of soft food. Maybe even just liquids. You know how your body reacts, so try really hard to be kind to it until it's resolved. Good luck! NeenBand 7 Posted May 19, 2007 Hi Alex! How are you? I see your going back in for surgery, best wishes to you with everything. remember your posts about that, and believe me, I'm kicking myself now. I was so hormonal last week, I was a bit crazy withthe eating and appetite. I've eaten smaller all week, so I am thinking I should go on liquids. Not sure if I should go to the ER at any point for a xray.
TerriDoodle 6 Posted May 19, 2007 Alex - thanks for validating what I was thinking yesterday. I had a near PB incident after wolfing down a couple of bites of a hamburger because I was starving!! That bread hit my band and OUCH!!! Immediate pain. The first thing I said to myself when I replayed what went wrong was "I let myself get too hungry and made a really bad choice". That is just SO right.

sirguy 0 Posted May 24, 2007 How can you tell if your band is slipping?
amyelizabeth 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Hi, I am new to posting here. What is a PB? I've seen that term several times and wonder what it is. Also, any words of wisdom??? I've been banded for a year, met my goal, let the band out and now have gained back 15 lbs. I got a fill recently but am not motivated and am miserable. The weight is not coming off. vgerbus 1 Posted May 24, 2007 I am fairley new to the band (Sept. 06) but I didn't think you "let the band out" after reaching goal. Isn't the band suppose to be kept full to keep you from gaining weight back?
socalgal3 4 Posted May 24, 2007 I'm surprised that you have been banded a year and don't know what a PB is! It is a productive burp- or when food get stuck and comes back up. Usually with a bunch of goo! You need to get back to a good fill amount to start losing again and get back to basics-exercise, measure your food, don't drink with meals, log your calories, etc. Sirguy- Do a search on slippage and you will find symptoms of a slipped band.
