1. When can I start sleeping on my side again? I miss it soooo much.

2. When can I sit up in bed without a quick pain near ribs?

3. When will I be able to tell the difference between hungry, full, or pee pains lol

It matters when you feel comfortable :) I started sleeping on my side about a week after my surgery. You could try it with a pillow below your tummy for support. The pain from sitting up went away after about a week as well for me.

The feeling of hunger came back after about 10 days. The full feeling, my doctor described to me, is going to be above your ribs, like right under your chest in the middle, instead of in your stomach. Which is kind of hard to get used to! Lol.

I tried sleeping on my side tonight caused sharp side pain near rib.... I think ill wait until sitting up doesn't have any brief discomfort. I'm currently 1 week post op, maybe you had better luck lol.

Ill keep the fullness tip in mind. Ty @@alyssadietrch

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
