Oh get a Dell. My DH the super computer guy (network server architecture engineer or osmething like that) always recommends them and he also recommends looking at their refurbished ones-- they are usually a good deal. That is what I am using now. I had a HP before and I experienced a lot of problems with it, the hit sink didn't work right, etc. and it basically died on me slowly and best buy wasn't that helpful even with extended warrenty.

never mind, I see you already got it! As far as battery life goes you should be able to get extra batteries, again, look for refurbished ones. I have three batteries and together that gives me power for 7 hours (it can be a long day on campus).

Hey, that idea of getting spare batteries is a great idea. Thanks, Kyethra. What kind of HP did you have?

Dell all the way...I am using a Dell Inspiron as we speak. I bought in March and use it hours a day with no problem!

Peace Out!

I love my Sony Vaio. I've never had good experiences with Dell laptops, and their customer service sucks monkey balls. I've had misgivings about HP ever since they merged with Compaq because I used to have a Compaq desktop that completely died within 3 years of buying it (and I had to have the monitor replaced within a week because it just stopped working). All in all, though, if I was buying a new laptop today, I'd get another Vaio. I just love it.

If any of you are still looking for laptops check out the product specs for a computer or laptop magazine they usually have reviews with product specs and average prices and either hit up compusa they have a bunch of stores going out of business, or wait till september thats when computers go on sale end of august early september. Im a network admin so just some advice.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
