MattLAustin 21 Posted December 2, 2014 I feel fine when I'm on my meds. When they wear off my shoulders and back hurt like hell. But it's my second day. Good luck on yours.

Dakota Girl 38 Posted December 2, 2014 I used an ice pack around my abdomen where my lower incisions were located, and lying on the side opposite the port site with one leg and one arm over a couple pillows relieved pressure. I also ate A LOT of gas-x. The shoulder pain is pretty normal, result of them messing with your diaphragm and also a result of the gas that they use to blow up your abdominal cavity during the procedure. Back pain may be from lying flat on your back during the procedure. All sounds very normal, it will continue to get better each day, just listen to your body, do not over do it. Congratulations ! ImWithTheBand13 11 Posted December 3, 2014 Get up and walk as much as you can. By day 3 I was walking over a mile. Helps so much with the gas pains. Unfortunately Walgreens had a malfunction after my surgery and would not fill my meds saying the doctor didn't have authorization to prescribe it (he did - computer issue) so I never used the pain meds. I think it helped me get up and out of bed more because I could feel the pain subside when I would. I am 10 days post op and up to 4 miles a day and have no complaints! Just keep pushing forward. Good luck on your journey!
