Ivanova8 77 Posted December 19, 2014 @@jessiereece Nice to meet you! Here in Toronto, Canada they prescribe Opti-Fast 900. I'll be on it for two weeks. I didn't have a personal size blender before and it arrived from Amazon today so I've been thinking of trying one. Then again I think, "gosh I'll get there soon enough so why rush it." Some people like them and when I tasted a bit in our nutrition class I didn't think it tasted bad. But that was a taste and not 14 days worth. =/ You're drinking the Premier shakes? I've heard those are supposed to be really good. I think they have them at costco here so I might have to get someone to take me. Having nice supportive people at the office must be a real plus. There's always so much food in work environments. Sounds like you're off to a good start.
Ivanova8 77 Posted December 19, 2014 @@mspurty29 That's so mean of them. Why didn't they push it off until the 26th? Did you ask them if they could?
Ivanova8 77 Posted December 19, 2014 @@MisforMimi So sorry. Anticipation is hard enough without them changing things. But as you said, everything happens for a reason. Which I know is sometimes easier said than lived. Hang in there.
GAWildKat 82 Posted December 19, 2014 I also got the call yesterday abt moving my surgery date back, I opted to move it back a week, but might choose 2 weeks once I do my Christmas visits next week. I was a Jan 26th surgery, but now I'm a Feb 2 surgery date. My in laws told us at Thanksgiving we need to make a trip to see them the weekend of Valentine's, but that will not happen now. 1. The surgeon won't clear it, and 2. My husband won't drive me the 4hrs home in an emergency. Otherwise, I'm ready to get this over and done all ready. This is the 3rd time surgery been postponed for me.

Ivanova8 77 Posted December 21, 2014 From what I can tell the pre-op liquid diet makes you go through detox getting all the sugar and junk out of your system. So basically we go through sugar/carbs withdrawal the first few days. I've been trying to cut out sweets, breads and pastries this past week. And coffee too is down to one cup every other day or two because boy coffee headaches can be awful. But like everyone says, by about the third to fifth day you're through the rough patch and then it's pretty good. I'm counting on that being true. I start next Monday and trying help myself now if I can to avoid too much awfulness.
smoggie 11 Posted December 26, 2014 Hi, I have my surgery on 7th jan and am absolutley petrified of not waking up again after the anaesthetic, or of complications having never had an operation before. I started my low carb/fat liver diet on Christmas Eve which was a nightmare as you could imagine, Pure hard will power got me through the day with my family feasting food & drink and me on a strict torturous diet lol, it's getting easier though... 3 days in haha ???? Paradisa 3 Posted December 29, 2014 I have my surgery on January 15th and go on my pre-op liquid diet starting on January 1st. I am very excited to start my new life! I am tired of being fat and in pain all the time. I have been eating light meals and a lot of Protein Shakes for a couple of weeks now, but the Protein shakes required for the liquid diet have less carbs, so I have to buy a different kind. The kind I have has 13 grams of carbs, the surgeon requires 2 or 3 grams. Big difference. I have had several surgeries, so I am not really afraid of not waking up from the anestesia, it is basically like going to sleep at home in bed. My surgeon seems extremely competent and I have no worries. I feel good about my choice.
