My surgeons program is post op days 1-4 Clear liquids, days 5-21 full liquids including milk based Protein powders. Today I was just advanced to soft foods and will remain on that until 12/30.

It is difficult because every surgeons requirements and expectations are different. I hope this helps.

Thanks, my surgeon give me two different handouts on when to start full liquids one says, Day 4-13 full liquids and the other handout says 7-13... I just want to be on the right time of when to start full liquids... I feel full liquids including my milk based Protein might just give me more energy when walking and not give me that lightheaded feeling..

I don't remember how long it was before I transitioned to milk and cheese. I could have had them on week 3, but I went through my first month eating cream of mushroom Soup for the majority of my meals. My new sleeve didn't like anything.

Be careful when you start trying milk and cheese. Frankensleeve didn't care for them at first. Milk was one of the hardest things to readjust to after surgery - eggs and chicken breast were hard too.

When I was still adjusting to regular foods post-op, I'd always take a test bite (about 1/2 teaspoon) and wait 5 minutes. If Frankensleeve didn't have a bad reaction, I'd slowly eat a little more.

Thanks I've always had a problem with eggs but I've never really had a problem with cheese or milk I don't think I'm ready for solids anytime I'm trying almond milk and skim milk just to try to transition myselfand I'm going to trying cream of wheat which is I've never really been a fan of five I got to give it a try

@@ngoycoanaya No never but I didn't exercise so early out. I wasn't even getting in 300 calories, there was no way I was going to exert energy when I wasn't feeding my body. I'm sure I would have been light headed if I had! Just try to stay hydrated and drink as much Protein as you can, and make sure your taking all your vitamins!

@@ngoycoanaya Ok wait a minute...so your day 6 and not getting any Protein in? I just re-read that. You know even if your surgeon doesn't want you to have the "milk -type" Protein Shakes you can still have things like the clear Isopure protein ready-made drinks. You really need to have protein! What are you ingesting as a diet?

I'm drinking Isopure, but maybe I should increase my intake to 40 or more. I'll be contacting my nutritionist very soon just to make sure I'm doing things right....

My Dr says no milks or milk based food till day 8. Most sleeve issues occur between days 5-7 according to him and if your sleeve were to open (forget the term) it's better to have the belly filled with Clear Liquids than food. On day 8 is good for milk. I learned the hard way, because I sipped on milk day 6 and was scolded for it!

And for me, it is very crazy because milk is one of the only things my Sleevie really likes. Everything else is hit or miss, but my Protein Drinks with my fat free lactaid go down great.

My surgeon and nut give you 7 days full liquid starting the day you are discharged from hospital. Then wk 2 you move to full liquid milk, juice (v8,oj, cranberry)and cream based Soups. Week 3-4 purée or baby food stages including Peanut Butter. Stage 5 starts today for me. cheese, crackers, soft cooked veggies, flour tortious, dried Beans, cottage cheese. Soft fruit like peaches or pears, eggs, oatmeal , cream of wheat.

Do try to go to fast take things slow and easy.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
