How fast do you drink your liquids?

Recommended Posts

If you are able, without it hurting, to drink fast, is it okay to do so? I find myself gulping and it doesn't hurt but I was wondering if there was another reason for not drinking fast?

Thanks!

Good question, and I'd love to know what the experienced have to say. Ive been able to drink pretty fast. I can't chug an entire bottle of Water at once like I could before, but I have no issues drinking 1/4 a bottle at a time. No sipping for me!

I'm able to drink almost as before, but as I gulp, I remember I'm not supposed to do that anymore! Then I stop myself. It is strange, but sometimes I wonder if I actually had the surgery...

Can I ask how far post op everyone on is ? Cause I'm able to do like a small mouth full at once & I'm scared I've done stretched my pouch ... But I'm not in no way getting the fluids I should be . I'm 6 days post op & worried I've done messed something up. I can take about 2oz maybe at one time but if I sip I can do a little more . Any one else doing the same ?

I'm about 8 weeks out. Early on I wondered a couple times if I'd actually has the surgery. Usually when I drank some Water. But most every time I eat I'm reminded it really did happen. lol. Drinking is just easier for me I guess. But I also don't overdue it.

sometimes i forget, and gulp. but then my chest hurts a lot. so i slow down, and force myself to drink smaller "sips" and wait while i feel it do down my throat. i wish i could drink faster because sometimes i get distracted and don't get to drink as much as i need to. i worry about that.

I often feel exactly the same way!!!!!!!!!! I'm hoping and praying that at nearly 4 weeks I haven't stretched...I have WAY too much weight to lose!

I think everyone is different. I can gulp, but it makes my stomach hurt a bit afterwards. I think I was told that gulping causes air bubbles in the new pouch just like a straw would. I try not to do this, although when I'm really thirsty I have to really watch myself. Cold Water or drink really makes my stomach hurt as well. I'm six weeks post op.
