BitterSweet* 835 Posted December 2, 2014 @@downsizingdiva, I'm sorry about your friend. When young, obese people die of heart attacks in their sleep it is usually from sleep apnea. A good majority of obese people have it and many are unaware of it. The apnea means that you are literally not breathing, and the cessation only needs to occur long enough to trigger a cascade of events that lead to an MI. It is very sad but completely preventable.
