be_satisfied 7 Posted December 10, 2014 My surgery is on the 23rd. I meet with my surgeon on the 15th and meds are at the top of my discussion list , as well. Tylenol doesn't work for me either and I worry about rebound headaches with Tylenol.

be_satisfied 7 Posted December 10, 2014 Let's hope we both get s answer that its something that works. Good luck. So close to Christmas for your surgery how long do you have to stay in the hospital? They tell me I'll either be discharged late Christmas day or the day after. It was that or wait another week and I decided I wanted to get it done.
brokenangel84 35 Posted December 10, 2014 I understand if that was my choice I'd do the same. I'm past ready to have mine done.
Trayjay33 138 Posted December 10, 2014 I also have had Migraines for several years, nearly daily for the past four years now. I'm concerned about what pain meds I'll be able to take post -op since ibuprofen meds can cause ulcers. Any ideas? The Topamax, Imitrex and Botox are not anti-inflammatory medications so they are not in the class of Ibuprofen. If you only get headaches once in a while Tylenol may be a choice if your Doctor agrees or a daily preventative medicine with a as needed medication that is not a anti inflammatory. Congrats on your surgery
DivaSue 23 Posted December 10, 2014 I was really worried about this. My Migraines are triggered by stress, weather, and food. When I drop out the carbs and focus on Protein that really helps. My doctor said that the rapid melt zomig would not be contra indicated. I'm 9 days out and so far so good.

InspirationMySon 135 Posted December 11, 2014 I had Migraines more often then not before RNY and took Topamax daily & a suppression med if I had a beak thru Migraine. I have found that since the surgery I very rarely get a headache & that Tylenol takes care of the 2 I have had in the 3 months since I had the surgery. I hope that everyone is so lucky. I hope I am that lucky as well. I hate migraines. They are by far one of the most evil things ever. There other evil things with it but it ranks up there with them.. Congrats on being 3 months out. sassy14 178 Posted December 12, 2014 My Migraines are better post op but I do have Botox and use maxalt for the occasional Migraine. Maxalt is not a NSAID so it's fine for me.
