jblgirl 10 Posted December 1, 2014 So, I started my pre-op diet on the 22nd. We left for a week long vacation the 23rd and got back this morning. I lost 6lbs! I didn't stick exactly to my diet though I didn't over do it or eat anything terrible. My scope is Tuesday and I'm freaking out that I messed up. Help? jblgirl 10 Posted December 1, 2014 I mainly did a Protein Shake and bad for Breakfast and lunch. A ton of Water. Then for dinner Id have an unsweet tea and I'd find something at the restaurant that I could eat. Like, veggie fajitas or a salad.
bobbyswife 862 Posted December 1, 2014 The purpose of your pre-op diet is not so much weight loss as it is prepping your liver to be lifted and moved out of the way in order to get to your stomach. When is your surgery? I would stick to it 100% from now on. Don't create unnecessary problems for yourself
Elode 8,093 Posted December 1, 2014 I can't tell you if you messed it up or Not but If I were you I would do as your told. Your surgeon has a plan for you and they expect you to be compliant with it. I have heard Of surgeons canceling surgeries for non- compliant patients. My surgeon would Have and he made that perfectly clear he told me if he opens up a to do surgery and the liver is too big he would close back up and that's that. Its too dangerous to do surgery on your stomach if you have a big fatty liver which is common with over weight people.
