Yes, totally normal. Your body is in a huge calorie deficit, with surgery recovery and eating restrictions. You body prioritizes energy, mainly going to your brain and heart. Keeping your peripherals warm is low on the priority list. Just think of a time when you've been super fatigued, it's hard to get warm, right?

I'm looking forward to this side effect! I did buy a warming pad for my bed, though... can't sleep when I'm *too* cold, as I found out while camping one night in 13 degree weather with a very light sleeping bag. Other than that experience, I've never been *too* cold... always too hot.

I'm 2 months post op and on a full diet, yet I still get so cold. My son calls me Mr. Freeze. :P

It's totally normal.

Everyone comes in my house and comments on how warm it is.....I have the heat set at 69 and an electric heater/fireplace that runs all day which pushes the temp in the livingroom to about 72. I wear a sweater, pair of socks and a pair of fuzzy socks over them!....and I put a wrap around my shoulders while I work (I work from home) My hands are like ice! This is all new to me....have always been the one burning up!

I used to be hot all the time! Now I am cold. Part of it is I am very anemic so keep those lab appts! I think the other is just a lack of calories. My body is really changing in every way.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
