Reward gift to myself

Recommended Posts

Did you buy yourself a reward gift when you hit a milestone?

I'm about 4 1/2 months post op and have hit the 100 lb. mark in weight loss. To Celebrate, I bought myself a nice reward gift - Power Beats 2 wireless headphones. I love them! I used them at the gym today and had a great workout.

How did you reward yourself? And, what was your milestone?

Here is my list that I made last Spring:Weight Loss Rewards

185 - “Yes” trip to Trader Joe’s for specialty items

180 – Kitchen gadget, probably a reversible stovetop grill / griddle

175 – Garden gloves and hat (use gloves for work-out also?)

170 – More CD’s for outside exercise / or MP 3 player w/sleeve band

165 – Backyard fitness trail equipment

160 = Plants for the yard = lilacs or honeysuckle

155 – ½ hour massage at Massage Envy

150 – Genealogy trip somewhere

145 – Style consultation

140 – Another Professional bra fitting

135 – Family portraits

Alternate suggestions: replace Claddaugh ring, nice jewelry item (maybe an ankle bracelet), go to arts and crafts fair (or Scottish festival), go to that local church flea market, office supplies or new deluxe office chair)

That's a great reward, they work pretty good? I was worried about interference, especially in a gym.

I have a few things in mind when I get near or at goal. One is Botox and the other is a cute pair of Uggs that I have my eye on. They are tall and I've never been able to wear tall boots because my big calves.

I love all of these ideas - great incentives too. I posted mine recently under topic "My Chocolate-Free Purse" (under rants and rave) before I saw this thread. I bought a red paten leather Kate Spade purse I've been eyeing forever, and would never have bought pre-weight loss because i was always too afraid to stand out in something red - might draw attention to all those pounds so artfully hidden under shapeless black clothes, right? I'm not opening it until Christmas, since my daughters are part of gifting it to me too. I'm so looking forward to it!

@@*Lexie* I've only used them a couple of times but I think they work great. The sound is not quite as good as the wired Beats headphones but really good. I was able to leave my phone on the ground near whatever machine I was on and had no interference at all.

The Uggs will be my second reward gift. I have the booties now but can't fit in anything beyond ankle height. Soon though!

Initially I had picked out a designer purse and a trench coat. In the end, my reward was an entire new wardrobe.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
