VGB 130 Posted November 29, 2014 Can do you sleep after surgery! I mean can you lay on your side once you get home from the hospital?
SuperDave 1,115 Posted November 29, 2014 I always sleep on my side, so when I got home from the hospital I would roll on my side after I fell asleep. Sometimes I would wake up feeling uncomfortable (not really in pain) from sleeping like that, but it only lasted a week or so.
alwaysvegas 702 Posted November 29, 2014 I actually slept on my side, my back, and in a recliner chair. All worked well.
athena3127 199 Posted November 29, 2014 I slept on my side straight out if surgery while in the hospital. Once home I slept whatever way was comfy. Listen to your body and don't push yourself.
Elode 8,093 Posted November 29, 2014 I slept on my side with a pillow between my legs and behinds my back for support, now a month later I'm back on my belly : )
Elode 8,093 Posted November 29, 2014 Oh you can also put a small pillow under your belly while your on your side if it helps!
hlnwls 20 Posted November 29, 2014 I sleep in a recliner for the first 5 days after I came home from the hospital. Once I started sleeping in the bed again, I sleep on my side with a body pillow.
Luvin_Life125 558 Posted November 29, 2014 I also slept in my recliner for the first week home. Laying flat felt like it pulled my stitches inside and the recliner gave me just enough support and the rift angle to not pull anything. Now after 2 weeks I sleep in bed and wake up in every position imaginable. I bought a new recliner a few weeks before surgery because I figured I would be spending some quality time in it.
