Day 10 post op QUESTIONS

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 11/18, and I have lost something every day up until this Tuesday, my one week post op visit. I lost 10 lbs total in that first week.

I haven't lost anything in the three days since then. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Is this considered a stall? Isn't it weird to happen so early?

Also, I am sliming practically from the minute I wake up. I'm measuring my food and not feeling any pain. Any suggestions on how to reduce this?

thanks!

This happens to me regularly, so I only weigh once a week or I'd drive myself crazy.

For the sliming, I suggest taking small bites and eating more slowly. I think that would help.

IT happens to all of us. Some more than others. Everyone's different. Some people lose steadily and some lose a lot of weight and then stall. What matters is the overall in the end. Don't weigh yourself all the time or you;ll drive yourself crazy. As for the the slimming as Beaglelover says all you can do is take very small bites and try to notice if some foods cause it more than others. You'll find that you can't tolerate all the foods any more. Again it;s different for everyone. Good luck.

I stalled at 2 weeks post op for 12 days. Thus far, my weight loss has been a series of stalls where I sit at a weight for a week or few days then lose 3 or 4 lbs. I usually when I stall my measurements go down. So my measuring tape is easy handier than my scale.

Im two weeks three days after surgery. I've been the same weight the last two days. Ive been losing a pound a day since surgery. I was hoping to keep losing until exactly three weeks but i guess not lol. So the dreaded three week stall is here early. Hope it doesn't last long. How are the other November sleevers doing with the stall?

Yes i have stalled twice since my surgery on the 20th Nov. And when i did loose it was 2 to 3 pounds at once. Its kinda wierd , but i think its just your body adapting to everything that is changing with your body and eating habits...good luck! ;)

I'm two weeks one day out and have been going up and down the same pound or two for almost a week. I know it's related to being bloated though.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
