Heading back to ER again, prayers please

Recommended Posts

Saying more prayers for you right now. Asking God to heal you of this terrible affliction and help the Doctors help you to be well again. How is your wife? Is she with you there in the Hospital? If you were my husband I would be going crazy and raising hell trying to get you the help and care you need. Please don't give up. They should be feeding you intravenously since you can't keep anything down. Fight for your life! You are worth the effort. Asking God to send you love and healing.

Headed back to hospital , still no ideas maybe convert to bypass but because of recent survey may have to wait until early February. I can't make it that long. I'm vomiting like 20 times a day. Dry heaves and bile. The nausea is controlling me 24/7.I've taken pretty much all anti nausea meds. Zofran, Phenagran, reglan, benedryl, scopAlomine patch. Wish someone could help me my prayers have not been answered.

If your doctors have not ordered a HIDA Scan, please inquire about this. If they truly feel that the hiatal hernia is not the problem, they need to rule out your liver, pancreas, gallbladder and biliary ducts as the cause of your continued suffering.

Obviously something is wrong. It CAN be identified, and the problem CAN be solved. I have faith that it will be. I just don't think the right test has been done yet. PLEASE GET A HIDA Scan. INSIST UPON IT. We care about you and are praying for you. ????????

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
