I am due to have surgery in December, and I went ahead and got the Vitamix....omg, that thing is amazeballs. No lumps, everything has an awesome consistancy, I have even done Soups, and sorbets in it. The only downside, is it sounds like a jet engine when you go full speed..... it's crazy powerfull. I didn't shell out the full money though, I got a reburished on for much less on the vitamix website itself, and it comes with a 5 year warranty. If you opt for a vitamix, make sure you get it through the website, I have heard problems with the warranty if not purchased through vitamix.

We have a Ninja system. Good price at costco. I don't necessarily use it because of the WLS. My family makes smoothies every day. I am trying to up my calories to level off my weight loss so I will be using it more.

I did not buy it for my puree or mush food stage. If that's your only need then it's a waste of money.

I bought the Ninja mega kitchen system back in April and I use it every day, sometimes twice a day. I love it! It was one of the best purchases I made. I would suggest getting something with high rpm (higher than the Nutri-bullet) - the Ninja and Vitamix are the best.

I use it for my Protein shakes obviously but the other uses are endless. It stays out on the counter and gets plenty of use.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
