Dianne A 7 Posted November 27, 2014 I was sleeved november 21, so i am fairly new to this. Did anyone else in the beginning feel pain when drinking Water or swallowing? I still have a pain with swollowing anything. But my surgeon said it's because I'm having spasms in my stomach. It has gotten better but it hurts
SuperDave 1,115 Posted November 27, 2014 Yes. The pain is absolutely normal. Just take small sips and hang in there. It will get better soon!
BeagleLover 1,020 Posted November 27, 2014 Yes, I did, the day of surgery. After that, I was OK if I took small sips.

alwaysvegas 702 Posted November 28, 2014 Yes, I felt a bit of full pain when swallowing, but it was very mild and it cleared up within 3-4 days. Everyone's mileage may vary of course. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

TNchick 6 Posted November 29, 2014 10 days post op and I can say for me it started to get better around day 6, at first I felt like I wasnt "sipping" correctly (usually I gulp things) and could feel the liquid (with air trapped underneath) all the way down my throat and into my stomach, then I could feel it start to spasm, very painful and honestly kept me from drinking as much as I should have but now I am strting to feel like things are back to normal, just a smaller area to fill
