Happy Thanksgiving & before/after pics

Recommended Posts

This is my first thanksgiving since being sleeved last December and for the first time in the longest, I was not dreaming about all the food I was going to consume. First, I can't physically eat more than a few ounces...so I have to choose carefully. Second I have worked so hard this past year, I really think twice before I eat. Food is no longer my main mission. It is no longer my scapegoat when I feel depressed and it is not my safety blanket or my reward.

Just want to wish everyone the best holiday and give you motivation to hang in there. I am still on my weightloss journey, but it feels so good to be healthier. My goals are more about fitness and not so much about the scale. Once you get closer to goal weight, the pounds don't just slide off.."you gotta work @;$$:!" Like the Britney spears song. So I encourage all of you to exercise and you will be successful. (Plus it helps with all the loose skin and jiggles ????) post-203426-14170993433362_thumb.jpg post-203426-14170993615843_thumb.jpg

Thanks for all the positive energy. Believe it or not, some people will want you to fail and will criticize your decision. You will lose some friends along the way and gain new ones. Just stay positive and you will succeed...even if you mess up.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
