I need advice

Recommended Posts

I had the bypass this past August 27th... I'm still puking (sry for being grafic) and can barely eat 2 bites without feeling so full I wanna vomit or I do vomit. If I don't most foods sit like a rock and hurt so bad... and I've only lost 50 lbs...yes I know that's a lot but my doctors told me it would be 10 lbs a week for the first 2-3 months so I'm discouraged that I'm not where I could be... anyone else having this issue or have any tips?

Hi Mandy. Sorry for your tummy issue. It sounds like you need to see your surgeon. I'm 9 weeks post, and occasionally have those symptoms but not chronically. Sounds more serious than this forum can handle. Keep us posted on how you do, but go see your doc!

I did go see him and he said it was normal... that's why I was asking if anyone had any tips on how to go around it or make it happen less

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
