tshine01 4 Posted November 26, 2014 Question: Does anyone every call there Surgeons office with questionsregarding approval steps? I've called twice with different questions but they sound a little irritated. I have my last appt for my 6 months diet documentation on 12/16/14, I want to ask them how long after that will it take for them to schedule my 4 hour pre-op class. I'm wondering is that being to obsessive? I'm anxious but I don't want to be a bug lol Thanks
Sleeve_Sistah85 193 Posted November 27, 2014 Why not call and make an appointment with the surgeon?...Thats what I did. I actually had 2 appointments with them (which I think the 2nd was total bullshit and abuse of insurance on the surgeons part) and got tons of questions answered. They even let me pick a tentative surgery date in March 2015. My hospital also has info sessions and post op support group. Look into it hun...even if your hospital doesnt have it maybe another one does. Nothing is too obsessive when it comes to your health.
della street 213 Posted November 29, 2014 @tshine01 I can totally relate -- however, if the office staff at my doc's office would fully answer questions, I wouldn't feel the need to send yet another email as follow-up -- for example, there has been much back and forth w/them about what kind of pre-op diet my insurance requires -- first, they said it was the 6-month physician-supervised diet (which I've done), then it was the 8-week with one of their nutritionists (which I started). So I contacted my insurance directly, and they, too, have given me diff answers, UGH -- I'm supposed to hear from someone from the insurance company on Monday w/the definitive answer. I do always try to be polite and ask everything in one email, but when you get partial answers, it begs a follow-up -- hang in there!
