kwilli8 8 Posted November 26, 2014 Going to a brunch. Menu: bacon/cheese quiche, stuffed french toast, hash browns, sausage, assorted bagels/muffins/pastries, fruit. I am 10 weeks post op today. Have been doing reduced fat and no sugar since surgery. I worry about dumping syndrome. What is everyone's opinion about having a forkful of each?
MsUjima 109 Posted November 26, 2014 Personally I would only have bacon/cheese quiche and sausage
jess9395 5,449 Posted November 26, 2014 I second that! Stick to the Protein. Or pick your top choice carb and have s CDs bites of that one only
Jolisue 112 Posted November 26, 2014 Great advice! I went to Vegas last weekend to celebrates hubby's 60th birthday and ate too much carbs! I died which triggered an IBS episode that is still active. Not worth it! I am 9 weeks post op, RNY by the way.
Jolisue 112 Posted November 26, 2014 Dumped, not died! Auto correct!
wildGoose 207 Posted November 27, 2014 In the restaurant, Id have only Protein, being careful to not overeat. I might take something home to try later. I'm just 4 weeks out from RNY. I'll be having 1.5 oz of lamb + a bite of sweet potato.
kwilli8 8 Posted November 28, 2014 For brunch I had a couple tablespoons of stuffed french toast and sliver of quiche (didn't eat end crust). dinner I had tablespoon of each side and a slice turkey. Felt fine and tolerated it all (kinda scary) but found I was totally lacking in my daily Protein. Glad Thanksgiving is over!
