So I had surgery last tues, and went yesterday for my one week appointment. They took the drainage tube out & said everything looked good! I've also lost 19 lbs!!!! I'm still struggling to get all fluids & Proteins in, but I'm doing better than I was a few days ago with that. I feel very exhausted and tired all the time though. I've told myself all day that I was gonna work out, but it hasn't happened yet. I just don't seem to have the energy. It still hurts a little when I bend over but nothing major. I'm looking forward to cottage cheese next week!!!!!

my drainage tube came out under my right breast. I had to empty it and record the mL. I'm not pushing the working out right now, but I also don't want to put if off. I asked yesterday at my apt, and they said, whatever I'm comfortable with.

This sounds horrible but I can't figure out how to start a new topic. Done it before a couple times, but don't see it now, lol. Anyhow, can anyone give suggestions on Gummy Vitamins? I'm wanting to switch from the pills to gummies, but i'm not sure which route I should go. Thanks!

I'm not an expert, but my doctor told me the Gummy Vitamins don't have Iron so they aren't good for us. One of the biggest issues is iron deficiency. Perhaps it's brand defendant, but make sure you get your iron. Also, make sure you take your Calcium at a different time then the iron because the calcium prevents uptake of iron, and you end up pooping it out.

Instead, take a look at liquid vitamins. They are full of the right nutrients and they taste good. Two tbsp by itself, or in your favorite liquid. I put mine in my Protein smoothies.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
