@@mishelcrz88 mushy to me is a little bit difficult because I couldn't have chicken, steak, really any meat but ground turkey, crab, and tuna..mainly. It's hard to eat super healthy when your still so limited at that point. I myself made egg salad, crab cakes, turkey meat balls, refried Beans, and ricotta cheese back (that was my favorite) I'm not so sure ricotta bake is "healthy"'But when you can only eat a few bits I would find it hard to put any weight on...which of course I haven't. You are mainly just learning to eat again and learning your new stomach. I still rely on my shakes to get my nutrients in, there's no way I could sustain on food alone. Oh and I made tuna salad but once I blended it it made me want to puke lol!

@@mishelcrz88, I've read a lot on here about the dreaded 3-week stall. That might be what you're experiencing right now, too.

Yes I heard of the 3 week stall I've been in the same weight for 2 weeks I just don't want to eat the wrong things or take it to fast I guess I was a bit discouraged because the scale won't go down and I thought maybe it's because of what I'm eating

didn't your doctor give you some guidelines/suggestions?

A great place to go for recipes is The World According to Eggface...

Concentrate on Protein (at least 60g) Water (at least 64oz) and Vitamins (as directed by your surgeon and bloodwork). Avoid white carbs (sugar, bread, Pasta, rice).

Check out the food and nutrition sub forum on here for meal ideas for all food stages.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
