So, I won't be ready for plastics for another 9months but I already have a turkey neck that is driving me crazy. I've tried several expensive creams...none work.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix it without surgery?

Wear a turtleneck sweater.....lol. I feel your pain....I have lots more wrinkles on my face now and let's not even talk about my batwings! But, it's all better than being morbidly obese.

Totally relate and totally agree. But I'd still like to not wear turtle necks 24/7 lol.

You might find it improves over time. Mine was really bad when I first started losing, but has continued to firm up over time. It's been 2 years since my surgery, and while I notice if I look, it does not jump out at me like it used to. I'm going to look at laser treatments, but not ready for anything surgical with it. I really don't want a face lift if I can avoid it.

It is the first thing I noticed as well. Although very mild at this point.

I also noticed my glasses are so big they keep sliding down my head! It has actually become funny. I knew my head was larger than normal but I guess I really was a fat head!! LOL!

I'm not aware of anything you can do non surgically to fix that BUT don't waste your money on creams! Set that money aside for your procedure if that's what you decide on

I had a horrible turkey neck and saggy jowls at first. It was definitely striking. But things have firmed up over the last 6 months and is not that noticeable anymore except from certain angles/positions. I definitely have more wrinkles on my face than before, but that was an expected trade off for losing my chubby cheeks and double chin.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I also have more wrinkles but I'm ok with that. Hopefully my turkey neck with shrink with time. And good advice to save the money from creams for surgery - cause I'm definitely getting plastics! :)

Do a search for neck and chin exercises. You can do them while doing other things, like watching tv, and over time they actually do help.

Do they? I watched a few YouTube videos about them but didn't think they'd actually work. I'll try them.

I had never been cut before, so I wasn't one for elective surgeries, but after my weight loss, I became so depressed by my jowls and my turkey neck, not to mention my batwings or my empty sock boobs....which all led me to have surgery. Best decision I ever made. I had a lower face/neck lift, breast lift/augmentation and arm surgery all at the same time. Then the following year I had a lower body lift with a Brazilian butt lift....

Can you share the approximate total cost for your procedures and were they done in the U.S.? I am only 8 weeks out but the turkey neck really bothers me.

The lower face/neck lift, breast lift and implant, plus the arm skin reduction surgery was all done at the same time so I received discounts, I think I paid around $10,000. I went to Tijuana Mexico for that set of surgeries. If you are interested in having surgery in Mexico, I recommend, Dr. Victor Gutierrez. I am having one additional surgery a long thigh lift, and that one will be done in the states, with a surgeon who specializes in weight loss, patient's plastic surgery. His name is Peter Fisher and he is located in San Antonio, TX. His prices are very good too, so if you want it done in the US please check him out. You can contact his office they will have you send photos and then the Doctor will call you and give you his opinion on what procedures would be best. There is no heavy sales push with either of these doctors...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
