Do you enjoy cooking still?

Me too asked my psychologist about it and he said that it's not unusual. He said since I always liked food and can't have it I still want to be around it.

that sounds about right.

yes actually I do

It's a little easier. I am not tempted to taste anything because I am not hungry

I had surgery the 24th of November . I helped with some of the cooking for thanksgiving.

I had to take breaks but it was still great :)

I loved to cook before and still love to cook. I love making people happy by feeding them.

@@Forsythia Guy sometimes irritates me, but it's Giada that is really annoyiing, with her fake smile. So phony. Grrrrr.

I'm interested in my own herb garden too! lol Since I now live in an apartment, I was looking into indoor/year round herb gardens and this is what I found www.aerogarden.com

I always enjoyed cooking. But now, I am more interested in flavorful foods. I am looking into growing my only little herb garden. And sometimes foods with a little kick to it. I am also hooked on storage containers and freezer bags. My hubby says that I am food hoarder, so be it. I have containers on the left side of the fridge with homemade sauces and leftovers. I also fell in love with roasted brussel sprouts, butternut squash and sweet potatoes. I like cod too. It is so meaty and I make a cream sauce with spinach, delish! I am always pinning recipes on Pinterest. I am also hooked onthat because it helps me eat slower, lol.

I'm taking bariatric cooking classes. I love to try new recipes and new foods. I cook for the family and they have learned to eat healthy or cook themselves.

If I make turkey chilly ..I will bake corn bread for them. If I make fajitas ..they have tortillas and I don't. We eat sugar free deserts. In no way are they deprived.

The first month and a half post-op, I wasn't interested in cooking. Now, I'm getting back to it. I cook the same food for myself as for my family... cuisines of different countries, recipes that use spices for flavor rather than fat. Of course, I eat minimal carbs compared with them. It's nice to have a large variety of food to enjoy.

i love cooking! I'm a culinary arts student, which is one thing that prompted me to get the surgery. I didn't want the extra calories from having to taste everything I cook.

@@HardwareJedi, uhhhh, don't you have to taste it anyway? Even Bobby Flay does! ;-)

Thx for the link. I am a penny super penny pincher lol. I will have to get a small one for sure. I also saw on Pinterest DIYs on starting a little herb garden using egg shells. How neat is that?

@ BeagleLover, yes but it can take the place of my "grazing all day". No extra food needed. ????

I am looking forward to cooking after surgery. I have been collecting / pinning so many bariatric friendly recipes that my family will love! Especially the world according to eggface. Her recipes look so great!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
