Bloating?

Recommended Posts

After surgery I felt amazing I haven't felt like my stomach sticks out or anything but I don't know why but the last couple days I feel like I'm still 259lbs (im at 228 now) I was also starting to notice how my belly was lying flat but now ugh I'm just feeling upset and feel like I'm still big. Also as I'm writing this I realize my period is due sometime before the end of the month. Could it be that? I don't know I'm just feeling down right now.

Also the scaled hasn't moved up so I know i haven't gain weight I'm just really bloated??

Pre period bloating could be a culprit definitely. I also find my belly looks more distended when I am constipated, maybe that could he adding to the bloat?

I haven't been constipated I went today. It's just an awful feeling like a roller coaster because I was on cloud 9 with my new found flatness of belly haha. And now I'm dirt. Ugh is this the emotional part of the journey. I'm only 4 weeks out!

Hey,

Did this go on it's own for you?

I am 4 weeks out and now feeling exactly the same as you (I'm also on) but I feel like I did before I lost any weight

If I recall it did go away. I wasn't constipated. I guess I was just bloated because now I just feel great again (I'm 4 months post op now)

Ah yes, I suppose it was quite a while ago :)

How are you getting on now? How much have you lost so far?

Amazing!! Well done.

I've lost 28 lbs since surgery, though 42 lbs since beginning of January.

I really don't see much of a difference yet, I have only gone down 1 size of trousers.

How often do you change trouser size?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
