No health problems apart from obesity, is surgery right?

Recommended Posts

I wasn't on meds. The only thing I took was Zyrtec-d and a multi- Vitamin. I have arthritis from a menicus repair & multiple allergies but none of my issues were weight related. I'm not sure why your doc thinks snacking rules out the sleeve. You can only eat so much food with reduced stomach.

If you qualify for wls and you've been unsuccessful at changing your eating, why not have the surgery?

I wanted the sleeve because I wasn't keen on re wiring my plumbing as much. 3 mths in and nearly 50lbs down it has been extremely easy. I don't crave sweets like I used to. It part the survey and part changing your attitude about food. I have no regrets with my surgery.

Since this post, I have been back to my surgeon. I wrote many things down regarding why I feel I want a sleeve.

He must of saw how adamant I was about a sleeve as he said its my decision.

I was offered surgery in December but declined due to going away over xmas.

Im all set for February for my sleeve.

Im excited now. Where as before I was full of nerves and fear.

Thanks everyone. I understand your mind has to change regarding food. Before I lost the 70lbs on my own I was eating whatever I wanted not thinking about my food choice.

It was never fast food/fried foods as I was always home baking. I loved pastry, bread and cake! My trigger foods.

I still bake but resist most of it. I also only snack on fruit.< /p>

I say I have changed but I know myself, and it will only be short lived.

I have my appointment early December and need to give points on why I prefer the sleeve rather than bypass.

My surgeon is strongly over pushing the bypass on me, which Makes me nervous.

I have not decided. Still very confused.

Congrats on your surgery just keep in mind, snacking on fruit can be just as harmful. Fruit is sugar and any sugar not burned off turns to fat. If you have not already started exercising, seek out some sort of regular exercise to incorporate in your life.

I'm so happy your'e doing better. It's a great idea to avoid the negative. There are so many happy outcomes out there. Listen to those. My surgeon said it has become so popular for health reasons that there few complications. I would use your name, but my stupid tablet keeps adding a L to it! Here from you soon, take care.
