Day 4 for me also. How are you doing? I've actually done better then I thought. Still early though..... I feel this is a great test to our determination and ability to change our eating habits for life.

I've done good. I do get hungry but it eventually passes after a little while. A week prior to this I did start drinking 2 shakes a day and eating about ½-¾ cup of meat for supper. I felt like I needed to do that to prepare me for the full liquid diet. I think it has made it easier. But I did eat a thanksgiving dinner lol. It was going to be my last full holiday meal so I couldn't pass that up. I drank some broth on day 2 but other than that just the shakes. I think I'm gonna stick with the Meal Replacement shakes. I'm glad you are doing well. I know you are as excited as I am. :D

I cut myself too back in November 4 my first surgeon appt to ween myself into small portions and new lifestyle too. Lost on that too. I agree it might be what's making this liquid diet easier. I also have up caffeine and soda. Even though I didn't drink much before. What type Protein Drinks are you drinking. I do prow tie shake premier vanilla or chocolate morning and dinner and a Greek yogurt at lunch. Gets me at 72 grams Protein. Also so excited.

I Have a question about H-pylori. my surgery is for the 29th but I tested positive for h-pylori. I'm on the antibiotics and I retest on the 23rd. What are the chances I could test positive again?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
