Wvcari 84 Posted November 25, 2014 I'm 11 days post op lap band and I am struggling to get many calories per day. How many calories is enough? Everything I eat/drink is low cal, sugar free, and am only getting 600-700 cal/day. I'm not hungry, and make myself get that. I'm still in the puréed diet phase so I'm sure I will add calories as I add food.
funky_monkey800 247 Posted November 25, 2014 I also didnt reach my calorie goals in the beginning...my doctor stressed the Protein shakes...i would force a bit down when i could because i could tell that even though i wasnt hungry or thirsty i was getting dehydrated. Your calories will come up as you add food. My doctor told ne thats when you have to be careful because some people tend to go for ice cream, and mashed spuds! My band was done mid october...and i am on "real" food..no fill yet, hopefully soon because as i progressed to the foods i became super hungry. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
