Today's post is going to be EASY! Everyone should be able to do this one! Pick your partner, husband, wife, children, best friend or whoever is the closest to you and say what about them you are so thankful for! Of course you know why you are thankful for them, but writing it out will make you feel even closer to them :)

I am SO thankful for my husband because he is my very best friend. He supports me unconditionally, and walks beside me through every decision I have to make. He encourages me to reach for my dreams and backs me up without fail. He is my partner, my companion, and my lover. I love you, Bobby!

Definitely my husband. He has loved me skinny, on the way to unhealthy and now is doing an incredible job of helping me get healthy again. Plus he shares my warped outlook on life and he "so consistently cracks me up"! Extra points if you can name the show the quotation is from.... B)

I'm thankful for my husband and everything he has given up and fought against to be with me. I'm thankful for his humor, his support, his kind heart and never ending patience with me. He makes me better. I love him with everything I am.

I'm thankful for my best friend of 8 years who has been the most supportive of me. She understands me more than anybody else in this entire world. She has been with me for most of my struggles in life and will continue to be. She's never afraid to tell me I'm wrong, or being lazy, or crazy. She knows exactly what I need to hear to get my butt in gear or cheer me up. She is my personal hero.

@ Those are the BEST kinds of friends; the ones that tell you what you NEED to hear, and not what you WANT to hear!

I am thankful for my husband because without him my life would be very different. He has loved me despite my imperfections & faults. He has supported me thru illness, pregnancy & getting my RNY. Without my husband I also wouldn't have our son. Together we are better then we are on our own, we encourage each other to be better.

My husband -- because he loves me so much.

Nothing feels as good as being loved completely by a good man.

I'm thankful for my son! 3 years old and soooo stinking adorable! He wakes up every morning with a smile on his face. He greets me after school with a great big hug and kiss. No matter how trying my day has been, even when he contributes to the frustration of my day, he ALWAYS makes it better by being his smart funny sickeningly cute self! (I usually don't talk about how cute he is but I haven't seen him since yesterday day around noon and it's him like crazy!)

I am thankful for my baby girl. I was told by doctors when I was younger that my weight and the PCOS would make it difficult or close to impossible to have kids - she is my miracle. Though unexpected, she is the sunshine on my darkest days. Looks like me, babbles like me (doesn't really talk yet lol), and has my personality. She is me through and through and the only person in the world I can never get upset with and will always make me smile. She is my angel, my best friend, my beauty. Nothing better than hearing those two syllable "Mommy"s :-)

I am also incredibly thankful for my parents who, no matter how insane I have driven them or find ways of disappointing, they have always supported and loved me and been my biggest help with my daughter and life itself. They want to see me the best I can be, and feel this surgery is going to do exactly that!

I couldn't have picked a better partner to walk through this life with. God truly knows what he's doing (Thats not to say he cant be a big pain in my keister too....but we won't talk about that)...stay on topic..stay on topic...love him!

My husband knows whats best for me even when I don't see it and he's willing to sacrifice to make sure I'm taken care of. When I had gallbladder complications after my sleeve, he didn't pipe up once about having to essentially act like a single parent for a total of 4 months while I recovered from my two surgeries. He is always thinking of ways to show me he cares and to make sure I'm safe and happy. Couldn't ask for more.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
