Protein Source

Recommended Posts

Is there a preference of Protein sources from powdered drinks? For example, is whey better than plant sourced? I found this great Protein powder and really like it, but it's plant based. Wanted to make sure it was ok?

The regular has 15 g and the sport has 30 g.

My nutritionist told me that plant based Proteins are okay, but many are not complete proteins so should be supplemented whenever possible with meat proteins and whey isolate.< /p>

15 grams of Protein is a little on the low side when there are so many more out there that have 20-30 grams per scoop. But ultimately, it boils down to your tastes and what your sleeve can handle. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Ugh, that's the problem. I cannot tolerate any artificial sweeteners, even Stevia is pushing it. So I'm really having a hard time finding something that works. I'm probably going to just end up putting unflavored in everything. ????

100% whey isolate is the most readily absorbed. Personally, I prefer to mix things up. Besides regular food, I use Protein powders containing whey isolate, whey concentrate, milk concentrate, casein, pea Protein, sprouted seed protein, hemp protein and soy protein. you never know what little micronutrients might be available from one vs the other.

my nephew lives in Wisconsin and is a body builder and he goes straight to the source for his protein.... from a local cheese factory. They simply dehydrate the whey that settles out when making cheese and sell it in bulk powder form. no processing, no sweeteners and cheap.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
