ashemademe 24 Posted November 24, 2014 Hello everyone, I had my surgery 11/10 and right now I am on mushy food. In the mornings I have a Protein Shake, snack Greek yogurt and lunch tuna and Soup. Some nights I have a little baked fish. But honestly I don't think about food at all. My doctor wants me to have my first fill on 12/5 and I am scared of the tightness. Do you think I show postpone it until I start feeling hungry?
jnevr480 66 Posted November 24, 2014 I was not hungry at all until at least 6 weeks. I went ahead with my first fill. It was only 1cc, so it wasn't much restriction. My doctor only does fills every 4 -6 weeks so putting off the first would really slow progress. The "not hungry feeling" will go away for most people, so I would go ahead with the fill. CherieRyde 227 Posted November 25, 2014 I'd go ahead with the first fill. My doc also does them once every 4 - 6 weeks. You may not be thinking about food as much now, but by the time you go in for your next fill, more food will be able to make it through the band. Especialy if you are eating Soup AND mushies. I now have 3.5cc's in my band ..... and I think I should have waited a little longer for that last .5cc's. I'm supposed to see him again in December, and I'm *not* getting a fill then. Instead, I'll spend the rest of November and all of December on mostly mushies. If I'm still having issues when I see him again in January, then I'll have him remove that last .5cc's. So .. it's about listening to your body just as much as it's about following the rules. And now .. I'm rambling ....
