Hey everyone! I'm 17 weeks post op and down 60 lbs. I was just wondering if this weight loss was a little slow considering that I have a friend who has lost about 100lbs in the same time frame. Regardless I am so so so happy with my sleeve and the decision I made to change my life. Please if anyone has tips or tricks let me know! Thank you ????

Congrats! 60 pounds in 4 months is great! Don't worry about about how fast it is happening, the important thing is that you are doing it! Everyone is different. Just focus on you!

Congratulations! You look amazing. Still pre-op so I love hearing and "seeing" other's success stories. Thanks for sharing and best wishes to you.

ditto on the above...just think...when was the last time you lost that amount of weight in that amount of time...if you are like me...the answer is NEVER! :)

Just follow your program and you will continue to do great!

I'm ten weeks out and have only lost 17 pounds so I'm thinking your doing well. The faster you lose weight the more loose skin you'll have.

You look like you've lost a hundred pounds. Fantastic progress! I would love to lose 60lbs in 4 months but my weight loss has been a little slower so it will probably take me a bit longer.

It also depends on how much fat u have to lose. So I may lose more than u based on those stats alone. People progress at different rates. I wouldn't worry about the numbers so much as the way I look and feel. And u look amazing! Keep it up!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
