Clothes?

Hi Veterans! I am 13 months post lapband operation and I've lost 62lbs and I feel FREE!!! But besides that, I cleaned out my closet on Friday night and I have two very large bags of mostly size 18W and 16W that I will NEVER need again. I know many are losing and don't want to spend money on that size knowing they will only be in them temporarily - so how and where do I post them to get rid of them? Most are comfy jeans, corduroys, some shirts, some dress pants (mostly black) a few dresses and skirts... at least 10 pairs of shorts - I live in Georgia so shorts are worn from April til October. I really would like to offer them to this forum - how do I do that? And if any of you are interested - you can have them you just either have to come get them or pay for shipping.

Keep some of the larger clothes. I found out that with the weight loss and loss of fat and insulation when winter comes you have to layer a bit and I needed a size larger or two sizes larger if I have to wear the thermal underwear to keep warm. I clean out my closets two or three times in the process of getting rid of 95 pounds and then filled the closets with smaller sizes. Fortunatly, I was slow at getting rid of all the old 38 and 40 jeans so have a supply to get me though this winter.

What would we do without Goodwill, Salvation Army, and outlet stores. I spent $18 yesterday and got 1 pr jeans, 1 pr nice slacks, 5 sweaters--one from Bergdorf Goodman.

I notice that whenever I clothes shop I automatically go to the larger sizes, then discover that nothing fits. Cool!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
