If you had one, how long did you wear your stomach binder? It feels like a security blanket and I like having it on but I'm afraid I'll have a hard time hiding it at work. The end of last week, I just wore a fleece coat all day (I'm super cold anyway, so it worked out), but u can't wear my coat EVERY day...

@@Quest4TheNewMe I wore mine about 5 days.

LOL! I'm on day #11 and still wearing it full time. :)

I took mine off when I came home, as it was stained and needed to be washed. I never actually put it back on.

I have worn one for a couple years off and on for a hernia issue. I'm so used to it that it feels weird without it. I call it my mirdle, (man girdle). I'm having surgery again in a few months to fix the hernia, so it looks like I'll be giving it up soon!

I wore mine for 9 days. I liked it but I took it off for a shower and never put it back on. Still hanging on to it though.

If you're talking about what I think you are, I got the same thing when I had my c-section three years ago. I wore mine off and on for about a year. (I did body wraps and used it to hold them on) I had to wear baggy shirts though.

I've had two c-sections and never got one for those, but yes, I think it's the same thing.

I didn't wear one immediately post op but I'm a RN and went back to work 10 days post op. It saved me while working! I only wore it at work for about 2 weeks after going back.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
