anissad 6 Posted November 23, 2014 I am 6 days post op and except for some incision pain, I feel pretty good. However, when I am "drinking" my meals I find that I can't tell if I'm full or not. I don't have that feeling of satiety. This concerns me as I'm afraid I'll overeat , so I measure approx. 2 T of food and eat that , then stop. Is this right? Also, I have a burning twinge when I digest liquids of any kind. I started taking my Omeprazole 40 mg. again after it made me nauseous the first day I took it. I thought it was stomach acid. Sorry for being so needy with the help, but this is ALL new and I'm not sure what my body is telling me. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. thesuse2000 698 Posted November 23, 2014 Hi there - every surgeon has different rules. I would drink up to a cup of Fluid in my first two weeks - but very slowly for sure. Some surgeons say to limit to a half cup or even a 1/4 cup. But 2 T seems super minimal! But don't expect to feel too satisfied from liquids. They do go through your stomach quickly. I assume the burning twinge is acid. Keep taking the prilosec. It should help. Good luck - it all gets easier with time!
anissad 6 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) I should clarify...I drink liquids all day. but when I eat Soup or applesauce, I do 2T. Edited November 23, 2014 by anissad
thesuse2000 698 Posted November 23, 2014 Gotcha. Your surgeon didn't give you amounts to follow? I couldn't eat applesauce that early - that's an approved food on your diet? I could only have smooth liquids and thin purees.
EhimyCD 0 Posted November 23, 2014 Me neither, by the first 2 weeks I was on Clear Liquids still... check with your surgeon, ur new stomach might not be ready for that minimal thickness yet, I was on broths, and Jello was the only thin thick I could have. Good luck with everything, this is a new chapter and keep us posted on your progress.
