reqgoddess 0 Posted May 24, 2007 haven't tried chips, etc since last fill, but I do remember them last fill that they did go down easier then food. Figures right? I have been having ice cream, and fat free pudding, but that is in afternoon. I think I will keep it too. I'll get through the weekend, but to be honest it is my family birthday party and would love to eat SOMETHING!!!!

TerriDoodle 6 Posted May 24, 2007 I'm certainly no expert, but from what I've gathered from the many hours I've spent on this message board, being too tight can create a whole host of other problems besides just 'not being able to eat'! ....Can't it? Reflux and a dilated esophagus are the first that come to mind. I wouldn't risk it...but that's just me.
reqgoddess 0 Posted May 24, 2007 OMG, i tried the a hersheys chocolate bar and some wise potatoe chips and lo and behold..no issues. Then i went and made a Protein Shake, and at first it didn't want it. WOW!!! Shows you that the bad stuff is really bad because your stomach isn't even recognizing it as substance!!!! i thought it was that way with ice cream because it is basically a liquid (whe melted in your mouth) but I think now it is probably the latter. At least with ice cream, very fattening and other bad stuff but you do get some Calcium, Vitamin D and possibly a wee bit of Protein.< /p>

heymsparker 0 Posted June 27, 2007 You know, I find that all the bad things go down with ease as well. I have had 4 fills now, I am at 2.8 ccs. I don't have any idea how many ccs my band is, I was told that is was a small one. I do however know that when I went from 1.5 to 2.5 it was a big shock! I realized the importance of chewing really well. Anyway, I ate a half a piece of a chicken strip and got food poisoning, so throwing up from true sickness was a lot like throwing up from eating too much for me. It was uncomfortable, but it came out okay. I find that when I eat or drink I need to burp a lot. I wonder if that extra air is causing me to fill up quicker. Does anyone have any suggestions on keeping air out, or is this normal? I try not to use straws, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Also, I've noticed that when I have eaten too much, I hiccup, I sneeze, and my mouth fills up with the slime. Is this normal?
Dreamer 0 Posted July 8, 2007 I am rather disappointed in the results I have had. I had hoped for more after a year. I am unable to drink Water or Protein drinks until the afternoon. I sip Water as much as possible to keep from embarrassing myself in class by pbing. As a result I have developed kidney stones. The urologist says drink more water or expect more of the same. I cannot eat many things that I know my body needs. My long blond hair has become so thin, that it looks pitiful. If you don't get enough Protein it's gonna' fall out. My last fill was 2cc last October. At this point, I have been at a standstill in losing. My daughter thinks that by the time of day that I can tolerate food, that I'm so hungry that I eat too fast. Now I am eating from a baby spoon to see if that helps. I wonder what that ellusive "sweet spot" feels like?
heymsparker 0 Posted July 9, 2007 Dreamer, that sounds terrible! I feel sorry for you. How far away are you from your goal? It doesn't look like you have much in your fill, but is it possible that it is too much? What does your doctor say about it? I know for me, Cookies, ice cream, and cake go down easily, and that is why I am at a stand still. It is so hard to keep from eating those things when it is so easy. How about you? What can you eat or what do you eat during the day? I'm just curious if Water and Protein Drinks are all you feel you can do at this point. I hope things work out for you. Take care. It might be uncomfortable, but I can get fluids down!! Why in the world would you continue on this way??
Chickaboom 0 Posted July 10, 2007 It will be six weeks on 7-11 since I was banded. When I see my doc again it will be seven weeks. I've lost around 20 lbs. My doc wanted me om pureeds for six weeks but for the past 10 days I've just eaten normal food. I'm concerned about gaining back some of my lost lbs. Does anyone think my doc would be willing to give me my first fill when I go see him next week? Also, I'm not gonna admit to him I got off pureeds! I want to accelerate the weight loss but after reading some comments am a bit apprehensive about the fill. How will I know or how will my doc know if the fill is right? heymsparker 0 Posted July 11, 2007 Chickaboom -- If your doctor thinks you have been on pureed foods this whole time he may feel that by moving to solid foods you will stay fuller longer and lose weight. Just a thought.
foodstampchamp 3 Posted July 12, 2007 I'm having some tight issues also. I have not lost any weight in probably 5-6 weeks, but i haven't exercised or watched what I ate. I have not gained any either. It started when I pulled my groin and hurt my knee with a run so I stopped to heal up a bit and just never started again. But I have not had a fill since Feb and all of a sudden in the last few days I'm so tight I can only eat a few bites of corn or really anything and am stuffed to the gills. But I'm getting Water down no problem. Very odd, Guess have to see where this goes.
