Anyone heard of a "sock" procedure

Someone mentioned this, the name is wrong but the gist of it is they place a "sock" around your stomach so it can get no larger, you can not stretch out the stomach.

I checked with the manufacturer, and they are currently doing clinical trials at 20 locations in the US. It is geared towards type2 diabetic patients with weightloss being a "side effect".
