jmg1263 17 Posted November 21, 2014 Hi all. I am all set and ready for gastric bypass surgery on December 1. I have lost 8 pounds on the first 5 days of the 2 week pre op diet. My diet is mostly high Protein, vegetables and fruit. Not to bad. I WILL struggle on Thanksgiving day and I already told my doctor that I WILL be eating stuffing on that day. I am nervous, anxious, excited about the surgery and it is approaching fast. Current as of this morning is 291, 44 Jeans. Goal is 175 and jean size ???? 34? I am very active and getting this extra 100 pounds off will be life altering. I look forward to following this group forum. John

I am a week post op and the pre op diet was the worst. I think because you can still physically eat what you want and you know you may not get to eat some of that ever again. My advice is do the best you can and when you do cheat (stuffing!) Make it a very small amount just for the taste. After surgery you will have no more worries. Good luck
