Mariew24 51 Posted November 21, 2014 Hi, I am also from the Twin Cities area and I'm just a little over four weeks post-op. How are you doing?
mandiole 1 Posted November 21, 2014 I'm doing pretty well minus not being able to take tylenol (I'm allergic to it) or ibuprofen now. How are you doing? I've lost about 32lbs so far
Mariew24 51 Posted November 21, 2014 I'm doing great. I had trouble in the beginning with pain medication. I had terrible itching all over from it. I'm down a total of 31 pounds, so you're ahead of me on that even with me being a week longer out from surgery. I just moved from pureed food to soft and that is going well. Where did you have your surgery? I had mine at Fairview Southdale.
mandiole 1 Posted November 22, 2014 I had mine at Abbott Northwestern in downtown. Pain medication will do that to ya! I just switched to full solid/normal diet and for the most part it seems to be going well. There's a few things I know I have to stay away from but for the most part meats and things are going really well. The surgeon I had fast tracks the diet so I started on the pureed and skipped the liquid diets and then was only on the soft solid for about a week. Although I do notice myself kind of falling back some days as sometimes my body doesn't like the full solids. I'm glad things are going well for you, hitting the 30lbs loss was a huge deal for me as I haven't been able to lose more than about 15lbs at a time in 8 years! Where in the metro are you from? I live in the Burnsville/Eagan area.
Mariew24 51 Posted November 22, 2014 Wow. I see that some surgeons do fast track the diet. Sounds like you are doing great with it. Congrats on your weight loss. I live in Eagan. Wow. Small world.
