Hi, my name is Kristina and I just had the sleeve done here in Boise ID by Dr. Korn 3 weeks ago. I am doing great! I am only 28 years old but I have severe back prolems and have been on many pain meds for awhile now. I am proud to say I am off all my meds and down 20lbs already! The worat part of it all is the head hunger and smelling the food I cook for my family and then having to drink protien shakes and pureed food :( BUT...I know this too shall pass and it will be well worth it for my future!

Okay so I sent you a reply message butfor some reason I am not able to find it now lol. But again hi April! Its nice to meet you on here ;) just curious what is the RNY? I have heard some people talking about it but ot sure what it is the doctors do? Thank you! It definitely has not been easy at all but will be well worth it. Good luck on the surgery! I wish you a speedy recovery and lots of success!!! Thats funny we are from california! We moved here about 5 years ago for my husband's parents but I sure do miss cali!! Its gets boring out here and so so cold! But its better for raising a family and alittle cheaper but not much from where we lived in stockton. But I miss my family there, its such a battle trying to figure out where to settle but I think its time to take a trip out there and see what its like again. ;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
