That's a good question. I expect mine to change for the better. I will feel better n-a-k-e-d in front of my hubby. But as far as him. He only said once "you're not going to get skinny and leave me are you?". And as for me - I'm not going anywhere. Fat or skinny my marriage is forever.

Relationships that are founded on solid ground...physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually should not be affected by weight loss...or gain....at least mine hasn't been....my husband loved me at 250...and 160 and now at 205....didn't make a difference....I just felt and feel better at a more decent weight....Prayer has always helped me a lot!

i pray my marriage will be okay. I have a tendency towards mania when I lose weight, and I love my husband and I think he'd have to beat me to get rid of me LOL! I don't want to hurt him and he's the best thing that ever happened to me. Plus I was ~70 lbs thinner when we met/got married, so I hope it will be sort of like turning back the clock when I lose weight (no skinny-shock for him)

My fiance had some issues right at first. His work situation wasn't good shortly after my surgery, so we already had some stress, and I'd lost about 25 pounds or so, and he'd started to get worried about me getting skinny and wanting to find someone else. I told him I never 'settled' for him, and that if someone wanted me after I got skinny that didn't want me before I got skinny wasn't worth my time. That calmed him down a lot.

I think my DH is proud of me, and he tells everyone how proud he is. We've always had a good relationship though, but I think it has improved some!

My husband is very supportive, but also a little insecure. He keeps saying he thinks I'm going to trade him in for a better model. But hey, It took me a long time to train him , and I'm not throwing that away! The only thing that I'm worried about is that I really thought my sex drive would improve once I lost weight, but it really hasn't. My husband wants to all the time, but I could take it or leave it. I think I may be in the early stages of menopause, though, so that may have something to do with it. I am going to ask my doctor about it when I see her next week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
