kayrenae 1 Posted November 20, 2014 Im not expecting anything within a few days of surgery, im 4 days post op and have gained 6 pounds, is that normal? Water weight maybe?
Faithluvhope84 22 Posted November 20, 2014 Yes Water, all those fluids they pump into you plus all the air. I gained weight too but then dropped all of it and then some at my second weigh in!
O2BMOME 0 Posted November 20, 2014 Keep in mind when you were in the hospital you were given IV fluids. You can expect to be bloated until that Fluid is gone.
Jonathan Blue 311 Posted November 20, 2014 A lot of the weight will be from the IV fluids like others have said above, but also realize your body has gone through a traumatic experience and it will take up to a few weeks for all of the swelling to go down as well. This will also lead to a slight weight gain. Give it time and the weight will begin falling off. Though I lost a few pounds after surgery, the weight didn't start to pour off until after I went back to work six weeks later. Keep up the hard work. Things will even out before you know it. ! Myrtle 0 Posted November 23, 2014 thats good to hear. I knew about the surgery weight gain. I actually gained 14 lbs during surgery. 1 week out and I lost that 14 plus 6 but haven't lost anything since. I guess that is normal from what I am hearing today.
