1 Year ago today I had my sleeve surgery. It was the best decision I've ever made for my health--diabetes in remission; no longer have high blood pressure--off all medications and down 119 lbs. I was hoping to hit my goal by today but i've been in a 3 week stall so I'm 3 lbs short of my goal but I'm thrilled with the results. Even if I don't go any lower--I'm happy with my size 12 self. Sorry for no pictures--I'm not very techy (need to work on that). Best of luck on your journey to those just starting out and continued success to the rest of us!! Lisa

thanks everyone! My worst stall has to be right now. It's been 3 1/2 weeks since I've lost though I haven't been exercising since I had to have my gallbladder out 5 weeks ago. Hopefully now that I've been cleared to start exercising I can get back to weight loss. I have 3 lbs to go to the goal I picked in the beginning but I wouldn't mind another 10-15 from there.

other than that, the other stalls I have had only last a week or so. You learn alot of Patience during this journey!

thanks again--Lisa

Mimi--Gallbladder surgery wasn't bad. I was in a lot of pain for few days before so I was just happy for that to end. Surgery was laparoscopic. I was able to go back to work 1 week later--- it was pretty similar to the vsg.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
