i had my band removed on 11/4/14, let me tell you that was a really bad surgery. the band had eroded into my stomach and he literally had to sew my whole stomach back together again. Now i have to wait 3 months but i'm wondering if i should go ahead and get the sleeve in 3 months. i'm king of worried that this is like the gastric and i'll gain my weight back and i didn't gain any weight with the band that i had for 9 years. Any info that could help me figure out what to do?? I'm afraid of gaining my weight back.

I had my band out 2 years ago and in spite of best efforts did regain all but 30 pounds. I had the sleeve last week and wish I had not waited so long

What do you mean.. ""Iike the gastric"?

I revised from band to sleeve II n 2011 and currently maintaining 160# weight loss. Best decision EVER.

I had my band removed in April 2013 due to slippage during pregnancy. Unfortunately, I gained all 90 pounds back that I had lost. I just had the sleeve done on Tuesday 11/18/14. I'm hoping to lose even more than I did with the band!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
