Brn2blossom 88 Posted November 20, 2014 Ive seen many people say they love popcicles and cold drinks post op. But my nurse told me not to cause the cold temp makes your stomach contract and you dont want that while its healing. In my head it would seem the cold would help swelling of the stomach. Any thoughts?
bobbyswife 862 Posted November 20, 2014 It's one of those things you just have to try and see if it works for you. Some people say warm liquids only, while others say they lived on popsicles
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted November 20, 2014 I drank ice Water. Not much of a Popsicle person. They gave me ice chips in recovery, can't see how a cold drink would be any different.
Elode 8,093 Posted November 20, 2014 @@Brn2blossom I wouldn't tell you to go against your team but at that point in time you will need to get in your fluids no matter the temp. I've never heard of a temp range but I could do both W/o issue. My fist real drink in the hospital was the barium sulfate for the swallow test I can tell you it was not warm lol!
