mmurray 24 Posted November 19, 2014 What did you guys do about lifting them? I had my surgery a little over a week ago, my doctor didn't mention any restrictions but the nurses all said don't lift more than 5 pounds. My daughter is a year old, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to not be able to lift her. My fiancé has to do everything for her!
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted November 19, 2014 Just think of it as going on strike and let him help you for a while. It might even help him bond with her even better.
berkeleyandbrownie 20 Posted November 21, 2014 My doc set a 25 limit for one month.
VSG AJH 499 Posted November 21, 2014 My littlest guy was 7 months old when I had my sleeve. I couldn't lift him for three weeks, but I could hold him if someone else handed him to me. Let others help you for a while, and let your little one do a bit of the work (climbing into your lap, etc.).
SleeveNik 21 Posted November 21, 2014 My son is almost 3 and around 35lbs. I was told not to lift anything heavier than 10 lbs. I leaned on my family for support. I stayed with my Mom the first week after surgery because my honey works at nights. So she was an angel. Then I went home the second week, and I sent him to school so I didn't have to worry about lifting him. My doctor released me to normal activity after 2 weeks with no restrictions. mmurray 24 Posted November 22, 2014 I'm going to have to call my doctor and see what he says. I've been good for the past two weeks, I haven't lifted her once, but it's so hard! I miss picking her up and holding her.
